PARKER BUICK GMC GIVES BACK TO CARTERET COMMUNITY COLLEGE

MOREHEAD CITY, NC – Parker Buick GMC of Morehead City is giving back in a major way, presenting Carteret Community College with a $10,000 donation on Tuesday, January 21st.

The contribution will go towards the College’s new Career Center building, located near the west end of campus in Morehead City.

“Our family has been fortunate to serve this community for over 73 years, and it’s important for us to invest and give back to our community in a positive way,” explains Brian Parker, General Manager of Parker Buick GMC.

“I am an advocate for Carteret Community College and the many lives the College impacts every year.”
By creating the Career Center and having the College and NC Works in the same building, job seekers, students and employers will enjoy a seamless experience by having access to all the resources they need to gain meaningful employment.

The Career Center will offer job seekers and employers a one-stop employment location focusing on the following services: Success and career coaching; Employer job placement; Skill development and access to workforce training; Resume and interview assistance; Military/veterans’ assistance.

I am proud our college and community continue to work together to create a better quality of life for our community members, students, and their families.”

Job seekers of all levels will have access to comprehensive training and employment services in one location. Employers can receive services that address both their employment and training needs. Examples include help finding candidates, posting job openings, recruitment assistance and obtaining labor market information.
